2005 Volvo V50 Car shutters after hitting bumps
Suspension problem
2005 Volvo V50 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles
Hi,
I have a 2005 Vovlo V50 that shutters AFTER I hit bump. This happens at most speeds, but is particulary noticeable cornering at highway speeds, when things feel very loose for a couple of seconds after hitting a bump. Rides well otherwise.
I appreciate any ideas you might have.
Thanks

To keep things simple for now check all for of your shock absorbers for leaks. If you find one leaking most likely that will be your problem but I would strongly suggest you take it in to a shop to have the suspension looked over. I have seen the control arm bushings break on this cars also. Quick test for that is at a slow roll tap the brakes a few times kinda hard but dont lock the wheels and do not stop the car. If you have broken control arm bushings the front wheels will vibrate bad and you will hear a load clunking noise.
