2000 Volvo S80 Strong Gas Smell. No leak

2000 Volvo S80 Automatic

I am getting a strong gas smell in the car but I have put paper on the ground under the car to see if I am leaking and there doesn't seem to be a leak.

Also I am getting 2/3 out of my gas milage than what I was getting before the leak.

There seems to be some leakage spots when I pop the hood. But I'm not sure.

Pls. Help smell is TERRIBLE

Most likely your fuel pump is leaking and is located on the passenger side of the tank in top just between the backreset and the bench. Call VOLVO you may be covered under the 10 year 150k mile extended warranty on the pump. Hope this helps.
