I am just looking for a quick answer as to how difficult it is to change the front and rear break pads on my girlfriends Volvo S80. The dealer wants close to a grand and only "recommends" the rotors get replaced. Not just the pads. Let's face it I don't think she really needs the rotors, but they still want close to 500 bucks for just the pads. They are going to pass the inspection no problem with just this alone. I just know all about certain tools etc. That Volvos seem to need.I change her oil but needed a special wrench to pull the oil filter. Please advise what I can expect to need before I begin. The pads both front and rear combined are a paltry 60 bucks and I am willing to do the work just want to know what to expect. Thanks a lot.

Volvos arnt to bad to change brakes on, just sit down and think it through or use a owners manual as a guide and peck away at it.

If it has rear disks you will need a special tool to compress the caliper more then likely

and 1000 dollars is higheway robbery.
