Engine Performance problem
1998 Volvo S70 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles
On my 1998 Volvo S70, 2.4 5 cylinder engine, it had a miss at idle and low RPM. I have just had it in a Volvo shop and they told me the engine needed a tune up. To my understanding there were no sensors acting up. I replaced the plugs, cap & rotor. After installing these parts the engine started and idle perfectly. Upon driving the car, I noticed the miss had returned and seemed to be a little worse. It doesn't miss constantly, just intermittantly (comes & goes).
I didn't replace the plug wires, but did visually inspect them and didn't see any deterioration or bad areas on them.
By the way, the check engine light is on and stays on even when the engine is running smoothly and flashes when engine starts to miss.
