2006 Volvo S40 regular maintenance message reset

2006 Volvo S40 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 22000 miles

I have a 06 S-40 and I take care of the regular maintenance. Rotate tires, chango oil etc etc. Today the regular maintenance message came on, but I dont know how to reset it. Is this something that can only be done at the factory?

For push button ignition steps will differ so please let me know if you have the push button ignition..

Turn ignition switch to position one. Hold the trip button in. While holding the trip button turn the key to position two. When the orange indicator light starts flashing release the trip button and your maintinace light is now reset. Turn ignition switch off and then start up to verify it has reset.
