2001 Volvo S40 serpentine belt coming off

fixing car somebody else tried. serpentine belt elapes off the power stering pulley crankshaft pulley not matching other pulleys by 3/8 or 2 ribs, harmonic balencer pully only goes in one way, checked pulley on crANK ALL THE Way in.

Before you got the vehicle, what was removed and why was the serpentine belt off? Were they replacing a faulty component?

because timing belt not set corectly

Make sure the crankshaft pulley was installed properly. They could have installed it backwards and can be easy to do. If it is just remove the crankshaft pulley nut, use a pry bar to pry off the pulley and turn it around. Let me know what you find.

I am having the same problem....I had the tensioner replaced....and have returned to the same shop three times for them to put it back on again.....please tell me what to do or check.
