1993 Volvo 940 Car lost power and will not start

I was driving and the dash lights came on. The car did not stop running but I didnt have any power when I pressed the accelerator. I pulled over and shut the car off, and when I tried to restart it wouldn't turn over. What are the possible problems?

Spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body and see what happens-if it starts and dies out-check the fuel pressure-up to specs, recheck ignition system by doing a spark test.

I have a 94 volvo 940 and about a year ago I had the same problem the car would just not go if you put the pedel to the floor would just eventually shut off. Turned out to be a relay in the fuel pump.
