1992 Volvo 940 It cut off

1992 Volvo 940 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

yesterday I was driving to work and it cut off. I didnt even know it cut off till I came to a complete stop. It did make any strange noise or anything out the norm. I try to start it but it will not start well it trys to crank but will not start. What could this be?

Start by checking you have fuel and spark at cylinders .. you could also check compression .. I would also check your timing belt is not broken or stripped teeth !
