1992 Volvo 940 Car not starting

1992 Volvo 940 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I went to start my car a few weeks ago and it would not start. The starter turns the engine over and I can smell gas but It doesn't appear to be getting spark. Any ideas?
