I own a 1993 Volvo 850. It has 103,000 miles - non turbo, automatic transmission. 2.4 liter engine. I went out to start it one day and something had drained the battery. I attached a portable start system. It started and died and will not start again. I have checked all of the fuses on top of the firewall and they are all good. There is spark and there is fuel but it will not start. There seems to be an over abundance of fuel. I get fuel when the fuel pump fuse is pulled out. I have not taken the timing belt covers off but have opened them up a crack- enough to see that the belt is intact and turning.
Plugs-wires-cap and rotor are new. I'm suspecting the timing belt jumped. A compression test is my next step-
Any suggestions??
