What would make the odometer stop working while the speedometer still works?

There is a tiny gear inside the odometer that has a broken tooth.
It is not a difficult repair, but you will need to buy the gear, I got mine from ipdusa.com along with their DVD that explains how to do it. It took about an hour. You will need Torx drivers in sizes T25, T15, and T8 in addition to a Philips screwdriver. I found a pair of bathroom tweezers helpful for fishing out the broken gear tooth.
The repair is for all 850 models: 2004-2007.
