Air Conditioning problem
1996 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Dear sir,
My air conditioning is not cold if I drive the car at 120km/hour or more. Have changed the thermostat but it's still the same. Air conditioning is cold with driving below 120 km/hour. Any advice? My air conditioning mechanic also could not find the root cause.

IN MOST CASES THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE A/C SYSTEM. I AM ASSUMING THAT THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE SYSTEM FOR PROPER FREON LEVEL, IF THAT IS THE CASE, THERE MIGHT BE A COMPRESSOR PROBLEM. I HAVE SEEN THE COMPRESSORS OVER HEAT AND THEN SHUT DOWN. AFTER THE CIRCUIT COOLS DOWN, A/C WILL START WORKING AGAIN. ANY OTHER INFO YOU CAN GIVE?
