94 850 volvo wagon. When I brake at slow speeds, coming to a stop. As I stop, the rear end of the car will shake/vibrate for 2-3 seconds. This duration happens when the car has already been stopped sometimes. Seems to be more of an transmission problem rather than a braking issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This does sound like a brake issue rather than a transmission issue. However, the easiest way to tell is before you start braking to come to a stop, put the transmission in Neutral and then come to a stop.

If it still, does it then it is most likely a brake issue.

If you feel this in the rear of the vehicle then it is the rear brakes.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Below you will find the process from the manual that will give the remaining detail needed.

Please run through this and let us know what happens. Thanks
