I have a 1985 740GLE. It has issues with stalling out at random times. Sometimes you can drive it for days without a problem, sometimes it stalls before we get to the end of the street! You then have to wait quite a while, anywhere from 15 mins to an hour or more, to get it started again. It does appear to happen more often in the warmer weather, but will do it at any time of year. Any ideas?

Hi kukima1359,

Thank you for the donation.

Seems one of the electrical circuits is faulting intermittently causing the problem.

If the dash lights does not show when the engine stalls, the ignition switch is faulty.

If you are not getting any sparks at the spark plugs, it could be the ignition control module.

If it is fuel that is missing, you need to check the fuel pump and its relay.
