It has been raining here and when it rains the car has a hard time starting (It is parked under a carport). This time it won't get going. When I turn the key it tries to turn over and the tries get slower and a little farther apart. It never catches. The speedometer was going up and down the last couple times that I tried.

hi... i happen to be an owner of a Volvo 240 1990 edition.. i always encountered the same problem when it rained before. i always had it checked by a mechanic but it turned out always the same. just recently, i had brought it to a different mechanic and told me that i had to change the heater core so that i wont be having problems warming my engine. now, with my new Volvo heater core, i never had problem starting my car even when it rains. but still, try to bring it to an mechanic since they're the ones who knows best..
