Motor vent switch

2008 Volkswagen Rabbit 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 32000 miles
The motor vent switch that controls where the air comes out does not work it keeps on popping a fuse what can be wrong? I installed a radio recently and had problems with the wires the a ignition wire (brown and red) burned. I had to cut of the wire because it was damaged. Please help.

You are going to have to remove the radio due to the fact that upon installation you may have pinch a wire that is causing a short remove the radio and let me know what you find.
