Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Volkswagen Passat 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 65k+ miles

Started the car; it shuddered. Restarted and was fine. Was low on oil, tho no "idiot" light/warning. Took 2 quarts. Last serviced 3 months ago. Diagnostics showed #3 and #6 misfiring. Not burning or leaking oil. Where would the probable places oil would be going and how to fix? I am driving the car. This is a great concern as this kind of repair to stop leaking oil can be costly.

Also gear indicator does not highlight what gear I'm in. It shows as a solid color for all the gears, not individually.

Thanks for your help.

Could be leaking into the cylinders #3/#6 burning it in there-any blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe

Do a compression test both dry and wet-if in doubt readings -lperform a cylinder leakage test.

No leaks and no smoke. Had car serviced. I put in 2 qts, but took to the shop. They drained the 2 qts and filled with 6.3 qts of oil. Car seems to be running fine.
