2002 Volkswagen Passat timing chain / cabin filter
Looking at the front of my motor I have a metal cover over my timing belt? But is it a belt or chain? if a its a belt when should it be changed?
Also does my vw have a cabin air filter that should be changed?

is your car petrol or diesel?
the 2.5 tdi unit has a timing belt and you need special tools to lock the engine when changing the belt
cabin filter is located under the panel where the wipers are you have to lift of the trim that covers the battery and the filter is there
normally replace them every 10,000 miles
