Electrical problem
1995 Volkswagen Passat 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 180000 miles

Engine Performance problem
1995 (5/95 Producion date) Volkswagen Passat 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 170K miles

It has just been dying (engine shuts off and alarm system sounds) - shut the iginition key off and then turn it back on and it starts (as if nothing is wrong)-

To try to fix the above problem, I recently replaced the electronic (back) portion of the key ignition switch and now the alarm system stays on (effectively disabling the ignition system, so the car will not start or even turn over (starter is disabled by the alarm)). I've disconnected the battery, tried turning the alarm on/off via the doors and trunk, but the alarm still stays on. How can I reset the alarm or disable it?

Try pulling fuse 21 under the dash, it powers up the controller for the anti-theft. Iff that doesnt work, send me an email with exact production date and GLX or GLS and I will send you instructions for diagnosing the lock switches

Pulled fuses - still has same problem, (i.E, also, I already did the following: lock/unlock system using driver's side door lock, then passenger's side door lock and trunk's lock - still have same problem). What can I do next?
