Hi there;
I have got a 1995 Golf Gti, 2.0L, 8 valve, ADY engine. 150000 miles .
I am having seriously annoying problems with the car just cutting out on me as I start braking. The car also seems to drive fine as long as I don't accellerate hard. The car seems to have no power, especially above 3000 RPM.
I have read most of the forums and these are the things that I have replaced so far.
I have replaced the ECU relay, FUEL PUMP relay, HT leads, spark plugs, fuel filter, lambda sensor. I have also done a compression test and all 4 cylinders were around 13 bar, which I am told is fairly good for an engine with such high milage.
Could this problem be caused by a faulty crank speed sensor, evaporative emission system purge valve, airflow meter or idle speed control valve?
Please can you help me as this is costing me a fortune replacing all these parts.
Many Thanks.
Daniel
