1999 jetta. My electric passenger side window wont function anymore. The other day I put the windows down and the passenger side was moving very slowly and making a grinding noise. I stopped the window and tried to put it back up and when I did, the window fell straight down back into the door. When I try to move the window back up, I can hear the motor trying to move, but there is a scratching noise and the window does not move. Is the window just off its track or is there something else wrong with it?

The regulator has broken or come off the track you should be abale to have repaired for aprox 275 to 400 dollars tops including parts you can buy an after market part and you should be able to reuse the motor installing the motor to the new regulator can be tricky . Factory regulator with motor is huge dollars. Phone the wrecker, should be 150 to 250 depending were and should come with the motor. Dealer will know this problem very well. Good luck
