1999 Other Volkswagen Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive 48,000 miles

The ABS light, and the Brake light on the panel are on and the Air Conditioning light (and AC) work intermittedly. If I restart the car, then everything usually works. Soemtimes I need to restart more than once.

Your symptoms seems like the ignition switch is faulty.

With ignition switch turned to on, does the AC blower operate when turned on? Twist or shake the key slightly without turning to cranking position and see if there is any difference. If the blower starts or stops, the ignition switch contact are no good.
