The linkage from one of the carbs came off when my daughter was driving and it was touching the chouk wire and the car stalled and she tried to restart it but it just turned over then started smoking real bad from the engine. When I got there I seen the wire was fried. I replaced it but now I have almost no power. I turn on the head lights and only get the tail lights, flashers work but no blinkers, no brake lights, no power to the elec fuel pump. Only power to a few fuses. I tested the battery and was ok. Check the fuses and there ok. I was thinking of the voltage reg but not sure. Any ideas?

Check in front of the engine behind the fan shroud. When the linkage came loose it could have fried other wires that you can not see, try disconnecting the auto matic choke to see what happens
