Today I was on my way to get guess when my car started to shake a little bit and then the check engine light started to blink. I went to get gas and then called up my tech and he said to bring it in tomorrow for diags. Anyone have any clue what it could be? When I am stopped with it on it shakes a little bit. When I accelerate it shakes but when I am just coasting it is fine. I have not done any maintence other than oil changes and the standard. I know it mentioned about changing the spark plugs several, several thousand miles ago. How bad could this be?

You need that tune up and now possibly a coil too.

Yeah, I was going to get a tune-up along with a new timing belt in a few weeks. Guess it will be happening sooner than expected.

My 2000 jetta had the same problem does it sound like it is shaking really bad and making a loud noise at the same time. Before you drive it next check the spark plugs and make sure none of them have unscrewed out. We were wondering what was wrong with ours cause it was shaking violently and making noises and come to find out it was a spark plug that came out of the spark plug threads and hole. Then it was fine and still is fine till this day but also do that tune up it will help much
