2004 Volkswagen Jetta 57777 miles

I live in Las Vegas. Last week, on a day when the temp reached 110 degrees, I had my car parked outside and there was a waxy substance that seemed to be leaking from the bottom inside of the doors onto the outside of my car. Is it some type of sealling wax for the rubber stripping? Do I need to have it repaired?
Thanks, Lisa

It is a waxy material sprayed on the inside of the body panels for rust protection. It's called cosmoline and is just an annoying trait of modern VWs that oozes out when it gets hot.
It is common and is nothing that needs to be repaired. You'll just need to scrape it off periodically when it gets hot out. Since you live in Vegas, that will be a lot.
