I ran out of gas, and when I refilled my tank the car would not start. It starts and then shuts down. What is causing this problem.

Thanks for the donation.

Test fuel pressure at fuel rail. If no fuel pressure is present, check fuses and relay as well as inertia switch (if equipped). If fuel pressure is OK, replace fuel filter. Turn key in ignition several times (without cranking) to get the fuel flowing into engine again. Then spray starter fluid to get vehicle running again.
