1994 Volkswagen Golf 4 cyl Automatic 272000 km
My car suddenly began over heating about 1 month ago and I took it to a mechanic who dissembled the cooling system, radiator, thermostat and eventually decided it was something to do with the Head gasket. This was repaired and a new thermostat and breather installed however the car is still overheating and am afraid to drive it as the temperature occasionally goes from cold to 110 degrees + in a matter of minutes after starting. I have been told to keep an eye on it and return it in a 1000km. I have the car back now but the mechanic had the car for a total of 15 day and I am not satisfied with their response, they keep advising me that they are waiting on a reply from VW as to possible reasons why it is still doing this. Can you shed some light on this problem?
