For a '04 TDI New Beetle, BEW Engine. I am looking for the fuse and relay locations for the fuel tank lift pump.

I know that the relay is under the light switch under the dash, but which one and how it is marked I have no idea.

Where ite fuse is, if any, would be a good idea to check also.

The lift pump powers up with an alternative power source fine.

Hello and thanks for the donation!

Since you have the location of the fuel pump relay already, you will just need to match up the part numbers on the new relay and the old relay so you can replace the correct relay. Also check fuse number 28 (15-Amp) located on the fuse panel behind the trim panel on far left side of dashboard.

Fuse 28 is the fuel pump fuse for the gasoline version only.

The TDI version uses fuse S163 in the fuse box located on top of the battery box, then thru relay 409 located under the dash on the left side of the steering wheel.

Just purchased a Bentely Maintenance Manual. Schematics and wiring diagrams are pretty complete.

Fuse is good, so betting on the relay.
