2003 Volkswagen Beetle turbo wing makes noise coming down

You say it's a fualty switch, did you test the switch? Remove the wiring harness to the switch, use an ohm meter across the switch, it should be 0-5 ohms max when pressed, and OL when not pressed, irf the spoiler motor is loud enough to annoy, it is probably the faulty part. Test for power to it by unplugging the connector, press the switch and see if there is power with a voltmeter.
