Hello. I wonder if you can help to figure it out what happen with this car. My mother has a 2002 VW New Beetle that recently this EPC light comes up on the board. At the same time the transmisison started to have problems. When she puts the vehicle on driver mode and she tries to move foward, the car feels like it has some resistance to move. My father drove the car to test it and he says that he can feel the change of speed of the transmission on driver mode (D). Can you guys tell me what it could be and expensive will be to repair this issue.
thanks

Hello and thanks for donating

First off, there is a recall for your vehicle's brake light switch. If you haven't already done so, you will want to contact your local VW dealer and have this repair made (free of charge). The faulty brake light switch can cause the EPC light to appear. I would suggest having this repair made first and see if it helps the issue at hand. Let me know how it goes.

Also on top of the brake light switch recall. Has the vehicle had the battery disconnected recently or replaced?
