This just started happening last night - I started the engine and let it idle for only about 20 seconds, and the high temperature light started flashing along with an electronic beeping noise. The outside temperature was only in the 50s when I started the engine. There appears to be enough coolant. Maybe the coolant level is low ?? Is it a thermostat problem ?? Thanks in advance..

Hello
Thanks for the donation.

It could be several things causing the engine to overheat. Faulty water pump, thermostat, fan can all be the problem. The first thing to check is the coolant level. The coolan resevoir tank should have a Low and Full marking on the tank. Ensure the level is between the two lines. Next thing would be to watch/listen for the cooling fans to kick in.

Hope this helps..
