I have a 1972 Bug, the speedo has not function correctly so it says 300,000 and the engine is rebuilt. The trouble that I have been having is when i start the car whenever and when i let go the gas it doesnt idle and just die's. So i go and start right back up and it does it again.
When I go to drive, i put it into first and the rpm's is really low and and im pressing the gas to keep it up and when i go into Second its even worse. Its basically struggling. It has gas in it. I don't drive it far like 5 miles a day. Only during the week. It has a new fuel pump just put in 2 months ago. And has a tune up and oil change.
Today, i drove it in the afternoon and it couldn't keep the engine to idle, it just kept dying whenever i pressed the brake or shifted.
So, if you can think of whats wrong, it would help. I have had this car for 3 years and never had this problem. And the engine has been doing this for 1 week and a day. thanks.
