Transmission problem
1970 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual unknow miles

I Have a vw 1.3l motor whic we converted to a 1.6l. We put the car into a beach buggy. The problem is 2nd gear, every time you put it into 2nd it grinds, it also pops out of gear at times. The other problem is that whenever you release the clutch, the car revs up by itself, any help would be appreciated!

HI there,

The second gear issue will be a problem with the syncro and the the selector hub, as for the reeving when coming off the clutch just make sure that the throttle cable or the pedal box tubes are not worn and interfering with each other, there will be no other place this car interact with each other.
