2004 Vauxhall Zafira suspect govener in auto g box
Transmission problem
2004 Vauxhall Zafira 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 50,000 miles
car loosing power at 50 mph and over. Engine ok. I changed g box oil. car does mostly city driving. I heard taxis give this problem. any suggestions please.

I would suspect a fault on the engine somewhere before looking at the transmission ... try checking fuel pressure at WOT (wide open throttle) it may be the pump is loosing pressure or the fuel pressure regulator !!

Thank you for your suggestion. The problem turned out to be a wrong sized tyre fitted to the front which caused problems with traction control and abs. Thanks again.
