2001 Vauxhall Zafira engine won't start

2001 Vauxhall Zafira Manual 64000 miles
I have a problem with the car starting first time. It takes a few turns with the key and my foot on the gas to try and kick start it. When trying to start it earlier at the supermarket, a member of the public suggested it could be my 3rd cyclinder misfiring. Is this true? If so what can be done to fix it??? Thanks please help.

there could be numerous reasons for the car not starting ? .. have the car plugged into a diagnostic computer to scan for fault codes and repost with codes for more assistance
