my 2.5 v6 seems to gain and loose power when trying to accelerate have replaced egr valve, spark plugs, checked filters any idears

Check the throttle position sensor !

TPS is located on the throttle body .. it's a sensor that sends throttle position information to PCM (computer) regarding fuel delivery .. if it is worn/sticking it can cause the issues your describing .. i do not have a diagram of this vehicle .. your local library or autoparts store will be able to supply a repair manual with all the details you require
