2001 Vauxhall Corsa light comes on

When I start the car for the first time it starts good no problem. When the car has been standing neutral while I go shopping (example) I then go to start up but this time it takes a minute or to turn over before it fires up. A light sometimes come on that has a picture of a car with a bow tied around it. Any clues what can be the cause of this.

The light could be coming on for numerous reasons. You need to have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to retrieve the fault codes which will pinpoint where the fault lies
