1996 Vauxhall Corsa Replaced stater, now just spinning
Transmission problem
1996 Vauxhall Corsa Two Wheel Drive Manual
Hi there, I am very amatuer at mechanics, however. I have just replaced the starter motor on my 1.5 corsa deisel, and now the sarter is just spinning when i turn the ignition.
I have been told i need to rock the car in gear so that it engages with the flywheel, which i have tried repeatedly, but to no avail.
Can anyone please advise? note, i have already replaced the starter, so please dont all answer to inform me that the starter or solonoid are faulty.
This is a simple is with fitting, should i have aligned first, is there a better way to get it to engage, is there a check to see if it is enaged?
Many thanks

check the starter is aligned correctly using the mark's on casing from old starter ... check the teeth are good on the flywheel .. it could be the wrong starter or it could be a faulty starter !!
