i had this problem with my vectra, the engine management has discovered a possible fault, you will also have lost power, the vehicle needs testing and connecting to a device called a tech2, and vauxhall will charge £70 just tio connect this machine and tell you what the fault is, then charge you more to repair the fault!

the light with the car and spanner is a service light and providing you have serviced it recently you can turn it off by turning on ignition lights only then press the brake and press and hold the reset button on the dials until the light goes out.turn off ign and turn back on.
