Hi,

RVC stands for regulated voltage control. The fuse you refer to is for the body control module. A body control module is responsible for controlling several electrical components and communicates with other modules on the vehicle.

I attached two pics below. Did I get the correct fuse you are referring to?

Also, let me know what kind of issues you are having.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you. I wonder if this has something to do with the p1682 reading different voltages code one getting because this fuse is missing. I'm going to put in a fuse and let you know.

Hi,

The code you indicated deals with the ignition 1 power circuit. Are there any specific issues you are having? Also, are there additional codes?

As far as the fuse missing, don't use anything more than a 10 amp fuse. I have no idea why it would be missing, but it has me concerned.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

My voltage is all over the place. I replaced the fuse and nothing changed. 12.4 to 14.1 voltage up and down but the cars running fine. I just can't afford a shop or to breakdown so I'd like to know what to do to fix it myself if I can.

Kevin,

I'm still not sure what you are experiencing. I know you needed to know what a specific fuse was for, why one would be missing, a code you have, and now the voltages are all over the place.

When you say the voltage is all over the place, is the battery light coming on? The voltages you indicated sound normal, but they should be jumping back and forth while the engine is running. With the engine off, 12.4 is perfect. Running, 14.1 is perfect. However, they should stay somewhat consistent. The 14.1 will lower as electrical components are turned on, but shouldn't drop too far.

If the voltages are jumping, the voltage regulator, which is integral to the alternator, maybe going bad.

Let me know what is actually happening so I can better help you. Please understand that other than telling you what a specific fuse was for and what a code indicates, I don't know what is happening.

Let me know.

Fuse marked RVC was missing I replaced it and it did nothing it's fuse #42 on the 07 torrent. Twice while driving the car I got a p1682 code but no effect on anything. While driving the car that the voltage wanders between 14.1 and 12.4 it's very random but always happens. Sometimes it will stay at 12.4 for 90% of my trip and sometimes it stays at 14.1 90%. That's as best as I can explained it. Thanks for your patience.

Hi,

It sounds like the voltage regulator may be bad. What makes it difficult to confirm is the idea that it works normally at times.

If you want to check, I attached the diagnostics related to the code you have. Take a look through them to see if they help and if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
