Trouble getting timing to align

What could cause it to not be able to align timing? Also there are two marks on the camshaft sprocket and I am not sure which mark is the correct mark for this car.

If this has thrown a belt or broken one the valves are more than likely bent as this is an interference engine. See pictures for install.

Can you tell me which mark on the camshaft sprocket do I use? Because there are two marks one is a half the other is a whole.

The marks that I showed in diagram are shaped like a V only sideways if you have those they should line up. Make sure the marks you are looking at are not on the rear. If you are still confused after this take a picture and post it on here
