So I just did a transmission swap in my vehicle, but the transmission I swapped came from a 1994 Bronco. It drives great, but occasionally and randomly, my engine light turns on and my overdrive light blinks. The only code that pops up is a transmission pressure code. What should I do?
My Bronco is a 1996 with OBD2. The Bronco that it came from was a 1994 with obd1. Do I need to redo the wire harness? Should I go back to the 1994 Bronco and grab the computer? Help!

Good morning,

The electronics are not compatible. There was no pressure switch in the 1994. There is one in the 1996. That is why it is coding.

Basically, the transmissions are not compatible. You cannot adapt from OBD1 to OBD2. Basically, you have the wrong transmission.

You cannot change the ECM as the 1994 is OBD1 and the truck will not function.
