I scanned the car for codes and it gave me a low pressure solenoid c code P0970.

I unscrewed the full plug and noticed no drip when the engine is hot or cold.I have tried filling the transmission. (4-5 quarts) The transmission fill hole overflows only when cold and not when I start the engine. So I’m not sure if I’m overfilling or not. I have pumped at least 4 quarts into the transmission and the “transmission fail safe“ notice on the dash will not go away. I’m not sure if I’m filling it incorrectly or perhaps I have to reset the computer.

I am attaching the info on how to top off the fluid. You need to fill the transmission with the engine running so if the fluid is coming out when it is running then it is over full.

However, this is most likely not the issue with the fail safe mode. This DTC would be the cause of that. This is telling you that this pressure regulator valve has a short to ground and has most likely failed. I would replace this valve and then retest. Please run through this material and let us know if you have questions. Thanks
