When I take off in drive first gear runs smooth when it gets to second it pulls the car back like trying to stop it or something.

Hi,

When this happens, does the engine continue to rev? Also, is the check engine lamp staying on when the engine is running?

Let me know. Also, I need you to check the transmission fluid level and condition. Let me know both the color of the fluid and if it has a burnt odor to it.

Here is a link that you may find helpful:

Let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe

Sorry for the late reply but yes, my cousin told me that it probably is the transmission filter that's getting all clogged up and whatever. So, I bought a new one and I put it in and I filled it back up and took it for a test drive and it didn't help at all, it ran the same so that's why I'm hoping you can tell me what the real problem might be so I can try again.

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. You didn't take long to get back. LOL

When this happens, does the engine rev as if you placed the transmission in neutral?

The idea that it feels like it is holding you back leads me to think we may have a shift solenoid issue and in essence, the transmission reacts like it is in neutral.

Is there anything you can do to allow the transmission to reach 3rd gear?

Let me know. We may need to scan the can-bus to determine if the shift solenoids are responding.

Take care,

Joe
