Car’s speedometer doesn’t work, stays at zero, the car won’t shift into second gear, and when the RPM meter reaches 4 the car sputters and goes back down. The car will go into reverse and other gears though.

Good afternoon,

There is a vehicle speed sensor that controls the speedometer. If that is not working, the transmission will not shift.

Are there any codes set? Usually this sets a code.

4. Remove the retaining stud and the sensor. Pull straight out in order to avoid damage to the case.
