My car runs perfectly except I have lost reverse. Is the transmission unit a sealed one? And am I better off just buying another one or getting this one fixed? At the same time a blue light started to flicker in the dashboard and I lost my speedometer reading. Are these two things linked? How do I fix the speedometer?

Good morning,

It is cheaper to have it rebuilt than to replace with new.

A new transmission is about $4, 00.00 to $5,000.00.

A rebuild is around $1,800.00 to $2,200.00.

Yes, it does sounds like it is an internal failure in the transmission.

Is the check engine light on?
