Engine Performance problem
1986 Toyota Tercel Manual
I just got a 1986 toyota tercel 4wl dr sr5 station wagon for free. It had been sitting around for since december and the guy insured me that after we charged the battery it would run fine. After charging it and running it a while we changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. It ran great and handles expertly. I took it in to get smogged and it failed. They promptly ran additives through my engine saying they would help clean out my engine and then gave me another bottle to pour through my gas tank. with all that done i decided I might as well replace the cap/rotor while I'm at it. So with all this said and done, What more can I do? Any thoughts/speculations on what might help?
