The battery and brake warning lights stay on after the vehicle is started and running. Both lights started staying on at the same time, and the position of the emergency brake handle does not affect the brake light. We replaced the alternator (maybe unnecessarily) and the battery. Any ideas for repair of the problem or instructions for removing the bulbs or disconnecting the lights. I can't get the car its emissions inspection with the warning lights malfunctioning.

Thanks for the quick reply. I won't be back to the car's location until Tuesday. I'll check the fuses - if I can find them! -- And get back.

It took me a while to get it fixed, but I just wanted to say "Thanks!" It was simply a blown fuse -- whose location I found in my owner's manual. Your answer saved me a trip to the repair shop AND my car passed its emission test. I'm good for another two years. 243,000 and counting!
