The engine does not start only after pressing the gas pedal 3-4 times during cranking. I cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner but I still have the same code P0100. The fuel consumption has increased and there is a black soot that it spits out from the tail pipe when it starts, what to do?

Bench test the airflow meter and test the wiring back to the computer. Also check the coolant temperature sensor and fuel pressure-Double check the airflow meter it grounds the circuit opening relay to power the fuel pump

I disconnected the MAF electrical connector and test the engine if it will change, it did not. So I had it replace on the spot at Autozone and as I soon as I turned on the ignition the engine started. I have driven it for 100 miles since and no longer runs rich or have problems starting.
