I have a 1994 toyota pick up 3.0 (v6) eng. My AS reed valve is making noise. What is a AS reed valve and what dose it do? What should I do about the problem?

AS reed-air suction- its purpose is to reduce carbonmonoxide and hydrocarbons emission

What it does-is draws air into the exhaust manifold to accelerate oxidation, using vacuum produced by exhaust pulsatiion in the exhaust manifold.

It is similar to an air injection pump operation-

When I give it some gas and release, it makes gurgling noise. Does this suspose to operate this way or is reed valve bad?
